    Kentucky History Day

    We are in search of volunteers to assist KHS staff and faculty during our Kentucky History Day event on Saturday, June 6th! Kentucky History Day is our annual celebration honoring the anniversary of our states ratification. On this 234th birthday, KHS, along with the Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet agencies, are exhibiting an exciting day-long event showcasing the state’s unique culture, natural beauty, history, arts, and heritage. Immerse yourself in the rich history of Kentucky through captivating living history demonstrations, impressive performances, and intriguing exhibitions.

    We have several volunteer opportunities with various shifts:

    Saturday, June 6th: Kentucky History Day!!

    • Vendor Assistant - help vendors check in, set up, and break down. Active position
      • 8am-10am - Need: 2
      • 4pm-6pm - Need: 2
    • Attendance Tracking - use a provided counter to track how many patron enter the facility
      • 10am-12:30pm - Need: 4
      • 12:30pm-3pm - Need: 4
      • 3pm-5pm - Need: 4
    • Investigation Stations - exhibit interactive carts (wool, coal, or inventions) to families
      • 10am-12pm - Need: 3
      • 12pm-2pm - Need: 3
      • 2pm - 4pm - Need: 3
    • Activity Monitor - help the library staff moderate various hands on activities
      • 11am-2pm - Need: 1
      • 2pm-4pm - Need: 1
    • Kidz Zone - TEEN Volunteers requested! Assist youth programs in creating a take home craft
      • 10am-12:30pm - Need: 4
      • 12:30pm-3pm - Need: 4
      • 3pm-5pm - Need: 4

    You are more than welcomed to work a whole day at multiple positions or the same one.
