    Description

    At Atlas Assistance Dogs®, philanthropy is more than fundraising - it’s about connecting people who care with the lives they can change. We’re seeking a Philanthropy Director (Fundraising and Community Engagement) to help foster a culture of giving that sustains our programs for handlers, trainers, and the inclusive communities we serve.

    What You’ll Do

    • Inspire and support the board’s active participation in fundraising and friend-raising efforts.
    • Partner with the Executive Director to plan or enhance donor and community engagement initiatives.
    • Help design and promote board training on philanthropy and storytelling.
    • Track and report on board participation and impact in fundraising campaigns.
    • Build relationships that strengthen Atlas’s visibility and long-term sustainability.
    • Participate in regular board activities, contributing your ideas, insight and passion to further Atlas’ mission.

    What You Bring

    • Background in fundraising, marketing, or community engagement (preferably in nonprofit settings).
    • Ability to connect authentically with donors and partners.
    • Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to building support.
    • Belief in Atlas’s mission and the power of the human–canine bond.
    • You’re comfortable using basic digital tools (like ClickUp or shared online workspaces) to stay organized, collaborate, and keep things moving between meetings.
    • US based.

    Commitment

    • ~1-5 hours per week, averaging 5
    • 15 hours per month.
    • Hybrid or virtual participation.
    • Monthly virtual board meetings, quarterly deep dive meetings and annual meeting attendance.
    • 3year renewable term.
