    Description

    Social Media Intern

    Overview

Over the last 50 years the average size of wildlife populations has declined by 76% in Africa. Northern Tanzania, home to Mt. Kilimanjaro, the Serengeti, and one of the few remaining wildlife corridors in Africa – the Tarangire-Manyara Wildlife Corridor, is in dire need of protection. The long-term sustainability of wildlife and wildlands is not possible without the wellbeing of neighboring communities.

    Who We Are

Africa Bridge is a 501 (c) nonprofit economic development organization dedicated to paving a path to prosperity for rural African communities by focusing on the wellbeing of children and youth. Africa Bridge was founded in 2000. The early years of Africa Bridge were spent piloting new strategies, learning, and adapting and resulting in the creation of our unique and successful program model based in the Mbeya Region of southwestern Tanzania. Our model enables families caring for vulnerable children to escape the limitations of extreme poverty.

    Our Vision

A vibrant corridor where communities, wildlife and wildlands thrive.

The challenge in the Tarangire-Manyara Wildlife Corridor is that the residents of the 12 villages live in extreme poverty. The goal of this pilot to empower these communities to protect their wildlife, creating a sustainable model for conservation.

    Our mission

Partnering with corridor communities on a 5-year path to prosperity.
