Description
The Northern Virginia Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program needs volunteer advocates for residents in assisted living and nursing facilities in Arlington, Fairfax, and Loudoun Counties, as well as the Cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, and Falls Church.
Volunteers work to protect resident rights, help to resolve concerns and can be assigned to facilities close to where they live. Training for new advocates is provided twice a year in the spring and fall.
Our next new volunteer training will take place in October 2026! Please be aware that we do require background checks, so we ask that you allow plenty of time to apply before the training starts. For more information, please contact 703-324-5861 or dfsnvltcop@fairfaxcounty.gov.
