Job Summary
The Director of Partnerships identifies potential funding opportunities, builds lasting relationships with sponsors and community partners, and coordinates collaborative efforts to support SBMH initiatives. This role works closely with leadership to ensure consistent follow-up, proper documentation, and strategic engagement that strengthens organizational sustainability and mission delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Development & Management
- Identify and pursue corporate, foundation, and community partnership opportunities.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with current sponsors and partners.
- Negotiate partnership agreements and ensure clear expectations for deliverables and recognition.
- Collaborate with the Treasurer and Executive Admin to track donations, sponsorship commitments, and contracts.
Strategic Alignment & Communication
- Ensure partnerships align with SBMH’s mission, programs, and values.
- Work with marketing and communications to highlight partnerships publicly.
- Serve as a liaison between partners and SBMH staff for program or event support.
- Develop and implement a plan to maintain partner engagement year-round, not just during events.
Fundraising Support
- Assist in developing sponsorship packages and proposals for events such as Dancing for Heroes, toy drives, and community initiatives.
- Support donor recognition strategies to encourage repeat contributions.
- Coordinate follow-up communications with donors, sponsors, and community partners to ensure ongoing engagement.
Reporting & Oversight
- Track partnership outcomes and prepare regular reports for the Board and leadership.
- Ensure all partnership agreements, documentation, and communications are organized and accessible.
- Collaborate with leadership to refine partnership strategies based on performance and organizational goals.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong relationship-building and networking abilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience in nonprofit partnerships, sponsorships, or business development preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple relationships and initiatives simultaneously.
- Knowledge of fundraising and donor stewardship best practices.
- Professionalism, integrity, and alignment with SBMH values.
Time Commitment
- Approximately 10–15 hours per month (flexible schedule; may increase during fundraising campaigns or events).
- Participation in select events and meetings with partners is expected.
Impact
The Director of Partnerships ensures that SBMH has the resources, relationships, and community support needed to sustain and grow programs that serve children, siblings, and families beyond the hospital setting.
