    Description

    Director of Programs

    The Blind Society is seeking a dedicated and mission-driven individual to serve as our Director of Programs. This is a volunteer leadership position responsible for overseeing the design, development, and execution of programs that support individuals who are blind or visually impaired in achieving independence, professional growth, and meaningful employment.

    This role requires an ongoing commitment of approximately 10 hours per week and offers the opportunity to play a key role i shaping the organization’s programming and long-term impact.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Lead the development and structure of new programs aligned with the organization’s mission

    Oversee the implementation and ongoing management of programs

    Ensure consistency, quality, and accessibility across all program offerings

    Supervise and support program coordinators, including development, operations, and facilitation roles

    Monitor program effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement

    Collaborate with leadership to align programming with organizational goals

    Qualifications:

    Strong organizational and leadership skills

    Ability to think strategically and build structured systems

    Experience in program development, coordination, or related areas preferred

    Strong communication and collaboration skills

    Passion for supporting individuals who are blind or visually impaired

    Ability to work independently and follow through on responsibilities

    Additional Information:

    This is a volunteer leadership position with a commitment of approximately 10 hours per week. This role has the potential for future compensation as the organization grows and funding becomes available

    The Director of Programs will play a critical role in building and shaping the organization’s programming and overall impact
