    Description

Special Olympics Orange County swim coach

Provide swim instruction to youth and adults with intellectual disabilities on Tuesday or Thursday evenings. Choose 1 or more sessions. Classes are at both the Chapel Hill Community Center indoor pool (6:30-7:15p, 7:25p-8:55p), and at the Hargraves Center/A.D. Clark outdoor pool (5:30-6:15p, 6:25-7:25p). Athletes have varied swim abilities, from water aerobics for non-swimmers, to developmental, to competitive. Majority are recreational level swimmers. Our goals are to teach water safety, improve independence in the water, and to have fun. No coaching experience is required.
