    About the Role

    We are seeking Volunteer Contributing Authors to support Explore, our LGBTQIA+ Educational Hub.

    This role is focused on producing high-quality, experience-informed content that aligns with Publicly Private’s mission of education, empowerment, and accessibility.

    Authors will contribute articles and educational content across LGBTQIA+ topics including identity, mental health, sexual wellness, culture, and community.

    This is a remote, flexible volunteer opportunity.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Research and write original, high-quality articles aligned with our mission
    • Develop educational blog-style content across LGBTQIA+ topics
    • Create informative and accessible written materials for a general audience
    • Ensure accuracy through fact-checking and use of credible sources
    • Edit content for clarity, consistency, and inclusivity
    • Collaborate with the content team to develop ideas and support content planning
    • Contribute to maintaining content calendars and publication flow

    Qualifications

    • Strong writing and content development skills (articles, blogs, educational content)
    • Experience with editing, proofreading, and fact-checking
    • Ability to conduct in-depth research and synthesize information clearly
    • Understanding of content marketing or digital media strategies is a plus
    • Strong commitment to LGBTQIA+ advocacy, inclusivity, and community support
    • Excellent organizational, time management, and collaboration skills
    • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or related field or equivalent experience a plus
    • Experience engaging with diverse communities or nonprofit work is a plus

    • Research or academic expertise in relevant fields
