    Description

Do you speak Tagalog? Become a Friendly Visitor for an older adult in Queens!

Queens Community House is recruiting volunteers for our Friendly Visiting program, a program that matches home bound older adults with volunteers for weekly visiting to help create a mutual relationship and reduce isolation and loneliness among older adults in our community.

Friendly visiting is an enriching opportunity for the volunteer to develop a meaningful friendship. Together, the older adult and volunteer can discuss shared interests, learn/teach new skills, read books, learn technology, and celebrate special holidays.

We are currently in need of Tagalog speaking volunteers for older adults living in Queens for in-person visits or telephone calls.

The time commitment is only 1 hour a week. We can work around your schedule!

Email us at volunteer@qchnyc.org for more information and to get started!
