Fear No Music - Music Nonprofit Volunteer Staff

    Volunteer with Fear No Music

Support Live Music Events & Youth Programs that Inspire Creativity in Portland

Fear No Music is seeking friendly and organized volunteers to assist at upcoming performances in Portland. Volunteers play a vital role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for audiences, musicians, and young composers.

    Volunteer Roles

Volunteers should enjoy working with people and supporting creative environments. Training is provided. Responsibilities may include greeting guests and assisting with check-in, helping manage audience flow, supporting venue setup and teardown, and providing general assistance to staff and performers. Technical volunteers may assist with audio, sound, and microphone support based on experience. Volunteers with marketing or communications strengths may also help promote upcoming concerts in addition to on-site event support. Opportunities will be aligned with each volunteer’s interests and skills.

These volunteer shifts take place on weekends or weekday evenings, making them a great fit for individuals with traditional 9 to 5 schedules who want to contribute to the arts.

    2025 Volunteer Opportunities

    De-Mystifying New Music Concert Series

Five concerts in February and April featuring outstanding contemporary works from our Annual Concert Series. Volunteers help ensure each performance runs smoothly while welcoming concertgoers with warmth and enthusiasm.

    Young Composers Project Premiere Concerts

Two concerts in May at Reed College showcasing world premieres by talented youth composers. Professional symphony musicians perform original works created by middle and high school students. This season, their compositions are inspired by public artworks from the private collection of the Schnitzer Gallery in Portland. Volunteers assist throughout these meaningful performances, supporting students, their families, and our broader community.

    Grow With Us

Volunteers who support our live productions may have future opportunities based on their interests. These include helping with development and fundraising, communications, graphic design, and other roles aligned with their background. This is a rewarding way to deepen involvement in Portland’s vibrant arts community.
