Do you enjoy sewing and want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of hospice families?
Our hospice agency is seeking a compassionate volunteer seamstress to create Memory Bears from the clothing of loved ones who have passed away. These special keepsakes provide comfort and connection to grieving family members, transforming cherished garments into treasured heirlooms.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Sew memory bears using clothing provided by hospice families
- Follow a simple bear pattern and quality guidelines
- Work from home on a flexible schedule
- Return completed bears to the hospice agency for presentation to families
Qualifications:
- Experience using a sewing machine and reading sewing patterns
- Attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Compassion, sensitivity, and respect for the sentimental nature of materials
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
