    Description

    Hospice Volunteer Opportunity for Students

Are you a medical, nursing, seminary, or social work student looking for meaningful experiences that align with your academic and professional goals? Hospice volunteering offers a unique opportunity to gain required hours while making a profound difference in the lives of patients and families during end‑of‑life care.

Our program provides students with real‑world exposure that cannot be replicated in a classroom. Volunteers support patients through companionship, active listening, emotional presence, reading, and life‑review activities. Students may also choose to assist with administrative or support tasks, depending on their interests and course requirements.

We understand the demands of student life. That’s why we offer flexible scheduling, allowing you to volunteer as many—or as few—hours as your program permits. Whether you are building clinical skills, strengthening spiritual care competencies, or developing therapeutic communication and social engagement techniques, hospice volunteering supports your growth while serving others.

    Benefits for students include:

      • Fulfillment of required clinical or service hours
      • Experience in end‑of‑life and interdisciplinary care
      • Development of communication, empathy, and non‑verbal skills
      • Exposure to patients and care planning
      • Meaningful engagement that supports professional, spiritual, and personal formation

Our patients and families are deeply grateful for the time and compassion students share. If you are seeking an experience that will enrich your education, deepen your perspective, and help you serve with purpose, we would love to have you on our hospice volunteer team.

Interested students are encouraged to reach out to learn more and discuss placement options.
