That’s why our volunteers spend time doing simple things that matter:
Sitting and talking
Listening to life stories
Holding a hand
Playing a game
Listening to music
Or just sharing a quiet moment
Hospice volunteering is not medical care. Our hospice team handles all of that. Volunteers simply provide companionship and presence so patients don’t feel alone.
We also have a full-time Volunteer Coordinator who supports you through training, helps match you with the right patient, and is there for you every step of the way.

Sometimes the most meaningful thing you can give someone is simply your time.
If you’re on the fence about whether this is the right opportunity for you, we can set up a conversation with one of our current hospice volunteers. They’ll be happy to answer your questions and share what a typical day in the life of a hospice volunteer looks like.
Providence is located in an office park and can be a little tricky to find the first time. If you have trouble locating us, just give us a call and we’ll gladly guide you right to our door. If you can get to the corner of Harry and Webb, we can guide you from there. We’ll be happy to welcome you in. Our team loves meeting new volunteers and will make sure you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive.
Providence is located in an office park near the corner of Harry and Webb. If you can make it to that intersection, you’re almost there! The buildings can look a little alike the first time, so don’t worry if it feels like a tiny treasure hunt.
Just give us a call at 316-558-5956 and we’ll guide you right to the office. We promise a real human will answer the phone.
You’re welcome to stop by the office, ask questions, and fill out a volunteer application. Our application is simple and done the old-fashioned way—on paper—so feel free to bring a pen… unless you enjoy borrowing ours.
Our team loves meeting new volunteers and will make sure you feel right at home.
If you’re a little shy or just busy, you can submit your interest online. Your message will go directly to the Volunteer Coordinator’s email, and she will reach out to set up a conversation to answer your questions and help you feel comfortable about applying.
She might even offer you a cup of coffee to warm your hands… just as you’ll soon be warming the hearts of hospice patients who are hoping for a friendly visitor.
