    Description

    Position Title:  Director of Development

    Position Type: Volunteer (Unpaid)

    Time Commitment: Flexible; about 5 hours per week

    Start Date: Immediate

    Reports to: Executive Team of Deliverance Charities (President, Senior Vice President, Vice President).

    Location: Primarily remote. (Must be in USA)

    Deliverance Charities is seeking a Director of Development to lead and coordinate our fundraising efforts. This role oversees our grants, events, sponsorships, and merchandise teams, ensuring all revenue-generating activities are aligned, organized, and moving forward on schedule.

    This is a strategic and hands-on role suited for someone who can plan, manage people and processes, and execute fundraising initiatives in a growing nonprofit environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee the Resource Development department, including:
    • Grants
    • Fundraising events
    • Corporate and individual sponsorships
    • Merchandise and earned-revenue initiatives
    • Develop and manage annual and campaign-based fundraising plans
    • Coordinate timelines, deliverables, and priorities across teams
    • Support grant strategy, review proposals, and ensure deadlines are met
    • Guide event planning and sponsorship development efforts
    • Monitor fundraising performance and report progress to leadership
    • Collaborate with leadership to align fundraising goals with organizational mission
    • Improve systems, workflows, and documentation as the organization grows

    Leadership & Team Management

    • Supervise and support the Resource Development team (Grant Writer, Event Planner, Sponsorship Coordinator, etc.).
    • Create clear systems, timelines, and goals.
    • Train volunteers and staff in fundraising processes.

    Goals of the Role

    • Build a diversified, reliable funding pipeline.
    • Increase annual revenue to support programs like the Rebuild Program and the Tales from the Unfortunate series.
    • Strengthen donor trust and long-term partnerships.
    • Ensure fundraising efforts are ethical, organized, and mission-centered.

    Work Environment: Our team is collaborative and supportive, using tools Google Gmail, Chat and Space to stay connected and work efficiently.

    Schedule:

    • Self-determined schedule but need updates monthly.
    • At least 5 hours a week, anything more is appreciated
    • Updates should be submitted via email.
