Description
About Grievia
Grievia is a global movement dedicated to changing how grief is understood, supported, and held. Through thoughtful storytelling, reflection, and design, we aim to create space for honest conversations around loss, care, and connection.
About the Role
We are looking for a volunteer Grief Education Specialist— ideally a psychology student or qualified psychologist — to help us develop evidence-informed educational toolkits on grief. This role brings psychological depth to how Grievia supports its community, ensuring our resources are grounded, compassionate, and clinically sound.
What You’ll Do
- Research and apply evidence-based frameworks around grief, bereavement, and psychological wellbeing
- Develop educational toolkit content — guides, worksheets, and resource packs — for diverse audiences
- Translate psychological concepts into clear, accessible, and emotionally sensitive language
- Review existing Grievia materials through a psychological lens, offering feedback and recommendations
- Collaborate with the editorial and creative team to shape the structure and tone of resources
- Ensure all materials align with ethical standards and reflect Grievia's values of compassion and inclusion
Who This Role Is For
- Currently studying or qualified in psychology, counselling, psychotherapy, or a related field
- Comfortable engaging with grief, loss, and emotionally complex topics in a professional context
- Able to translate research and clinical insight into warm, plain language
- Self-directed, reliable, and collaborative
- Genuinely aligned with Grievia's mission — previous experience creating educational resources is a bonus, not a requirement
Why Join Grievia
- Gain writing experience within a growing global movement
- Contribute to meaningful conversations around grief and connection
- Flexible, remote contribution
- Purpose-driven, creative work
- Receive a letter of recommendation upon successful completion of your volunteer engagement
