Description
Do you have a compassionate heart and a desire to provide comfort to those in their final moments? MorseLife Hospice is seeking vigil (11th hour) volunteers to offer a calming presence and emotional support to patients at the end of life. As a vigil volunteer, you will ensure that no one dies alone, providing companionship, solace, and peace during their final journey.
What You'll Do:
- Sit with patients who are in the final stages of life, offering companionship and a comforting presence
- Provide emotional support to families, offering a listening ear and reassurance during a difficult time
- Help create a peaceful atmosphere for patients, offering comfort through your presence, gentle touch, or words
- Assist families with making final arrangements or simply provide support and comfort as they navigate the experience
- Ensure patients are not alone in their final moments, honoring their dignity and humanity
