AI Engineering Instructor & Curriculum Developer

Outcome School is a mission‑driven nonprofit empowering youth with the skills to thrive in the future of work. Our AI Engineering track introduces students to the technologies shaping the world — machine learning, deep learning, and large language model (LLM) systems. To expand this program, we’re seeking a passionate AI Engineering Volunteer to help design curriculum, create course materials, and mentor students as they build AI‑powered MVPs and final products.

🤖 About the Role

As an AI Engineering volunteer, you will help students understand how intelligent systems are built — from data to models to real‑world applications. You’ll design beginner‑friendly curriculum, create slides and assignments, and guide students through hands‑on projects involving machine learning, neural networks, and LLM‑powered tools. You’ll also mentor students during MVP Week and Final Product Week, helping them turn ideas into functional AI prototypes.

This role is perfect for someone who loves teaching, AI innovation, and empowering young people to build the future.

🧠 What You’ll Do

• Design and develop curriculum for our Introduction to AI Engineering course.
• Create course materials, including slides, assignments, coding labs, and project templates.
• Teach or support live sessions with demonstrations, walkthroughs, and Q&A.
• Mentor students as they build AI MVPs (Week 6) and final products (Week 12).
• Provide feedback on model design, data quality, evaluation, and ethical considerations.
• Introduce students to core AI concepts, including:
• machine learning fundamentals
• supervised vs. unsupervised learning
• neural networks & deep learning
• LLM systems & prompt engineering
• responsible AI practices
• Collaborate with the Program Manager to ensure curriculum quality and consistency.
• Support students during Demo Day, helping them present their AI projects to stakeholders.

🧩 What You Bring

• Experience with machine learning, deep learning, or LLM systems.
• Familiarity with Python, NumPy, Pandas, scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Ability to explain complex concepts in simple, engaging ways.
• A passion for teaching, mentoring, and supporting student growth.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• (Bonus) Experience creating curriculum, slides, or technical documentation.
