    Description

Foster a pet for a deployed service member

PACT (People + Animals = Companions Together) is pleased to offer Operation Foster, a program driven by a nationwide community of foster homes who will foster pets when their owners are unable to care for them. Our goal is to help those in need when their pets need a loving, safe place to live. Currently, we offer this service to active military and veterans when they are deployed or receiving mental health/medical care.

Operation Foster foster homes can be any shape or size, and we do not require a fenced yard. We DO want to make sure the pets we place are safe and therefore thoroughly review foster home applications.

How to Volunteer for This Opportunity

We are so excited to have you join us and to help in changing and saving lives. Please follow link to foster application and reach out with any questions along the way.

Operation Foster gives peace of mind to our military families, including Veterans and active-duty service members.

Operation Foster identifies, implements, and completely manages free, long-term, in-home foster care for the pets of our active-duty service members while they are on deployment or training, as well as the pets of Veterans requiring extended hospitalized stay or recovery time. Founded in 2011, PACT has expanded our operations into all 50 states and to date, we have saved the lives of more than 6,000 pets and their owners: pets who may have been euthanized if they were abandoned at over-crowded shelters, and owners who would have been devastated if they were forced to surrender their companion animals simply because they needed to be away.
