    North Memorial Health Care Emergency Department

    Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of patients and their families during challenging times? North Memorial Hospital Robbinsdale is seeking compassionate and dedicated Emergency Department Volunteers to help create a supportive environment for those in need.

    About the Role: As an Emergency Department Volunteer, you will play a vital role in facilitating smooth patient flow and providing comfort to those awaiting care. You’ll serve as a welcoming presence, assisting patients and families while they navigate the emergency department.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Welcome and direct patients at the Emergency Department entrance
    • Escort patients and families to various areas, including labs, restrooms, and waiting rooms
    • Provide comfort items like blankets and reading materials during wait times
    • Maintain a clean and organized waiting area, ensuring a pleasant environment
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members
    • Assist with transportation needs, including wheelchairs
    • Alert staff to any concerns or special needs of patients

    What We’re Looking For:

    • A self-motivated individual who can work independently
    • Sensitivity to those experiencing trauma, pain, or grief
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
    • Flexibility to adapt to the fast-paced ED environment
    • Comfort with observing strict patient confidentiality
    • Ability to interact positively with diverse populations, including children
    • Physical capability to assist with patient transport and manage tasks in the ED
