Position Overview
We are currently seeking organized, detail-oriented, and compassionate volunteers to join our team as Administrative Assistants for the Autism Directory initiative.
This role will support the coordination, organization, and management of directory-related information, communications, onboarding, and internal administrative processes. Volunteers will work closely with leadership and project management teams to help ensure profiles, data, and outreach efforts remain organized and up to date.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in nonprofit operations, administration, project coordination, community engagement, HR, or communications.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative & Directory Support
- Assist with organizing and updating directory member information
- Maintain spreadsheets, records, and profile data accurately
- Help review submitted bios, photos, and profile details
- Support onboarding and follow-up communication with directory members
- Track missing information and assist with data collection
Communication & Coordination
- Send professional follow-up emails and reminders
- Support scheduling and coordination of meetings or onboarding sessions
- Assist internal teams with general administrative tasks
- Communicate professionally with leaders, professionals, and volunteers within the autism community
Data & Organizational Management
- Organize files and folders within Google Drive and internal systems
- Help maintain accurate records and directory updates
- Assist with quality checks to ensure profiles are complete and properly formatted
Team Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with project managers, leadership teams, and volunteers
- Attend occasional virtual meetings if available
- Contribute ideas to improve workflow and organizational processes
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with good time management abilities
- Comfortable using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail)
- Professional and respectful written communication skills
- Ability to handle information with confidentiality and care
- Previous administrative, HR, project coordination, or nonprofit experience is a plus but not required
- Passion for supporting the autism and neurodiversity community is highly valued
