Help strengthen your community's preparedness for disasters.
The American Red Cross is seeking a volunteer Emergency Management Liaison to build and maintain relationships with local emergency management partners in Pend Oreille County. In this role, you will work alongside community leaders and agencies to support disaster preparedness, coordination, and planning efforts before emergencies occur.
What You'll Do
- Build relationships with local emergency management agencies and community partners
- Attend emergency preparedness meetings and planning activities
- Support coordination between the American Red Cross and government partners
- Share information that helps strengthen community readiness
- Promote collaboration before, during, and after disasters
- Help ensure vulnerable community members are considered in preparedness planning

- Communicates professionally and effectively
- Is comfortable engaging with community leaders and public officials
- Can work independently while staying connected to a team
- Has an interest in emergency management, preparedness, public service, or community resilience
Time Commitment
Approximately 4-8 hours per month. This includes participation in a recurring county emergency management meeting and occasional preparedness activities throughout the year.
