Carmel's Depression & Anxiety Wellness Foundation (CDAWF) is seeking dedicated volunteers to support our 2026 Free Mental Health: Depression & Anxiety Workshop Series. This community-centered initiative provides education, wellness resources, financial literacy, grief support, creative expression opportunities, and connections to local services for young adults and adults throughout Brooklyn.
Volunteers will play an important role in creating a welcoming, supportive, and organized experience for participants while helping us strengthen community awareness around mental health and wellness.
We are seeking volunteers who can assist before, during, and after the workshop series.
Volunteer Responsibilities
Event Setup & Breakdown
- Arrive before each workshop to prepare the space
- Set up registration tables, materials, and signage
- Assist with room organization
- Support cleanup and breakdown after each event
Registration & Guest Services
- Welcome participants
- Manage attendee check-in
- Distribute workshop materials
- Direct guests and answer basic questions
Photography & Social Media
- Take photos and videos during workshops
- Capture community engagement moments
- Assist with event documentation and promotion
Community Outreach & Tabling
- Help promote upcoming workshops
- Share flyers and information in the community
- Support outreach efforts and resource distribution
Administrative Support
- Assist with participant tracking
- Help prepare workshop materials
- Support communication and coordination efforts

- June 23, 2026 – Introduction to Mental Health
- June 30, 2026 – Financial Literacy
- July 7, 2026 – Community Resource Session
- July 14, 2026 – Coping with Grief: The Silent Struggle Behind the Strength (Men Only)
- July 21, 2026 – Express Your Feelings Through Creativity
Volunteer Schedule
Pre-Series Planning Support
Flexible hours beginning immediately
Workshop Days
- Setup: 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM
- Event: 6:00 PM – 7:45 PM
- Breakdown: 7:45 PM – 8:30 PM
