Volunteer Website Manager: WordPress

Help us keep our website useful, welcoming, and running smoothly!

Our Safe Space US is looking for an experienced, confident website volunteer who can take ownership of the maintenance and occasional expansion of our WordPress website.

Most of the time, you'll do straightforward website maintenance - fixing glitches when integrations and apps have bad hair days. Weekly checks to make sure all is good. You'll also coordinate with our SEO and Google behind-the-scene folks as needed.

And just a little more.

We have a couple new pages we'd like to add in the future. Maybe a page redesign or two. Never in a hurry, and always in collaboration with our behind-the-scenes team to help and support.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain and update our WordPress website
• Work comfortably within Elementor
• Update existing content as needed
• Troubleshoot basic website problems - usually Meetup event connectivity.
• Collaborate with our Google Ads and Meta volunteers to create or improve landing pages and website language
• Recommend practical improvements to the website’s structure and performance
• Keep an eye out for things the rest of us may not know to notice

We’d Love Someone Who

• Has solid, hands-on experience with WordPress
• Understands basic SEO principles
• Enjoys collaborating with people in different roles
• Can identify a problem, suggest a solution, and follow it through
• Has a good eye for clean, accessible, user-friendly design
• Communicates clearly and reliably with our AMAZING 100% volunteer team

A basic knowledge of website forms, analytics, integrations, Google Ads landing pages, Meta advertising, accessibility, security, backups, or performance optimization would be great. It'll make collaborating with our team nothing but pure joy.

Bonus points for being fearless about learning.

About Our Safe Space US

Our Safe Space US is a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Southern Arizona and an expanding online community.

We provide free educational, personal growth, creative, wellness, and community-building programs designed to help people learn, connect, and thrive. Our programming includes workshops, book clubs, writing groups, discussion groups, wellness activities, social gatherings, and community service projects.

Time Commitment

We anticipate an average of fewer than 5 hours per month, with additional time occasionally needed when new pages or projects are underway.

This is a remote volunteer position. We communicate regularly and value responsiveness, teamwork, initiative, and a healthy sense of humor.
