    Description

    Richmond ReStore Volunteer🛒♻️

Looking for a fun, hands-on way to give back to your community? Join our Richmond ReStore volunteer team! As a ReStore Volunteer, you'll help support Habitat for Humanity's mission by giving donated items a second life while creating a welcoming shopping experience for our customers.

Working alongside our ReStore staff, you'll help receive, process, and organize donations, keep the sales floor looking its best, and assist shoppers throughout your shift. Every day is a little different, and every shift helps support affordable housing in our community.

One of the most important parts of this role is making every visitor feel welcome. Volunteers are expected to greet each customer who enters the ReStore with a friendly smile and be available to answer questions or offer assistance as needed.

    Responsibilities

    • Receive incoming donations and provide outstanding customer service to donors.
    • Process, clean, and prepare donated items for the sales floor with guidance from ReStore staff.
    • Learn the pricing structure for commonly donated items.
    • Keep assigned departments organized, stocked, and looking their best.
    • Assist with creating and refreshing displays throughout the store.
    • Answer customer questions and provide excellent customer service.
    • Support daily operations in both the donation processing area and on the sales floor.
    • Respond to radio communication from staff and fellow volunteers.
    • Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone.

What Makes a Great ReStore Volunteer?

    • A passion for Habitat for Humanity's mission and serving the community.
    • A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
    • The ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
    • Comfort lifting and moving furniture or appliances using dollies and carts.
    • The ability to sit or stand for up to three hours in a warehouse or retail environment.
    • A commitment to following all ReStore safety guidelines and dress code requirements.

Whether you're organizing donations, helping a customer find the perfect piece of furniture, or keeping the store looking great, your time and talents make a real impact. We hope you'll join us! 💚
