Camp and Events Youth Volunteer - Conner Prairie

Our Camp and Events Volunteers assist as junior counselors for our popular Adventure Camp program, as well as special events like Headless Horseman, Jupiter Flights, and A Merry Prairie Holiday. These volunteers must be 13 years old by May 31. Applications for our Camp and Events Youth Volunteers will open by early February for the 2026 summer/fall season. This program focuses on assisting campers, not being a camper. Camp activities may include ziplining through the trees and canoeing across calm waters to exploring process art, fishing, and tackling adventure ropes courses. Every moment is designed to help campers connect with nature, themselves, and each other in meaningful ways.

Camp and Events Volunteers are required to volunteer 100 hours between late May and late December. Around 80 hours come from assisting with 2 weeks of summer camp. The remainder can come from camp or helping with our three major festivals. Activities during our festivals may include loading guests into tubes on our tubing hill, dipping candles, refereeing snowball fights, loading hayride wagons, selling souvenirs, doing crafts, and more.
