    Description

    Are you looking to turn your passion into purpose? York Region Educational Services (YRES) is dedicated to leading community volunteerism as a proud recipient of Canada's Volunteer Award, through providing a wide range of volunteer positions in communities in the Greater Vancouver Area, Greater Toronto Area, Alberta, and Ottawa. We are looking for 120 Summer Camp Volunteers—people who are devoted to giving back to their communities and making an impact.

    Summer Camp Volunteers will be responsible for:

    • Help setting up classrooms for activities and cleaning up at the end of day
    • Prepare and organize inventory
    • Facilitating fun and engaging activities with campers ages 5-11 years old
    • Working in a team of up to 120 other volunteers to support the curriculum delivery for approximately 20 campers per classroom
    • Creating a welcoming and positive environment for both campers and parents
    • Arriving at camp independently on time every day
    • Supervising campers ages 5-11 years old during during water/snack/washroom breaks
    • Maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor to campers

    Shift:

    8:00AM-4:30PM

    Date & Time:

    Thursday, July 2nd to Friday, August 14th

    Minimum of one-week commitment is required.

    Who We're Looking For:

    • Minimum age: 12
    • Able to independently arrive to work on time
    • Passionate about volunteering and excited to learn
    • Can commit to scheduled time of the shift
    • Fluency in English
    • Highly organized, detail-orientated and capable of managing multiple tasks
