    Description

    The Merchandise Handler supports the Sales Department at the World Center for Birds of Prey through active inventory and stocking tasks. This may include tagging/pricing, folding, restocking physical merchandise, and helping manage inventory on site. There will be some general upkeep and cleaning as part of the position to ensure the Gift Shop area of the Welcome Center is the best representation of the organization as possible.

    Duties:

    • Price and tag merchandise
    • Fold and restock inventory in the Welcome Center
    • Maintain positive working relationship with staff and volunteers throughout the center
    • Ensure the quality of displays for merchandise as you stock the Gift Shop
    • Communicate with the Sales Staff regarding incoming orders to process

    Volunteer Requirements:

    • Pass background check
    • Complete an orientation and comprehensive training
    • An interest in and general understanding of conservation and birds of prey
    • The ability to clearly understand the purpose and scope of TPF
    • Enjoy working with and educating diverse groups of people

    Working Conditions: The volunteer may need to walk, stand, bend, crouch and periodically lift light weight boxes/items. The volunteer will be inside and outside on any given shift.

    Instructions:

    Virtual interviews will be compelted with interested applicants. Upon placement an official volunteer application will be required to have on file with the organziation. A background check will also be required before beginning service.
