Receptionist Support Volunteer

Are you someone who enjoys talking with people, staying organized, and helping things run smoothly? Join us as a Receptionist Support Volunteer and help create a welcoming and organized environment!

What You'll Do:

• The Receptionist Support Volunteer helps create a welcoming environment by greeting guests, answering inquiries, handling phone calls, and supporting general front desk operations.
• This role serves as a backup for our front desk receptionist during planned absences and may assist with various projects as needed.

What We're Looking For:

• Friendly, patient, with an eye for detail.
• Enjoys talking to people and is comfortable answering consistent phone calls.
• Comfortable with using computers and familiarity with Microsoft Suite Programs such as Word and Excel.
• Some familiarity with Second Harvest Foodbank and/or an interest in learning about our programs and operations.

Commitment:

• We will coordinate with you to schedule a regular weekly schedule, between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday. Approximately 3 hours per week.
• Available to be on-call to fill in during absences with an advance notice of minimum 5 days.
  • During fill-in receptionist days, the hours will be in the timeframe of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, but we are flexible to accommodate your availability.
• We ask for at least a 6-month commitment.

Requirements:

• 18 years and above. Approved Second Harvest volunteer.
• Successful completion of a background check (required before service begins).
• Orientation and training must be completed prior to starting service.
