MADD Illinois Victim Impact Panel Speaker
Details
Description
Have you or someone you love been impacted by impaired driving? Your story has the power to make a difference.
MADD Illinois is seeking victims and survivors of impaired driving crashes in the Rock Island area who are willing to volunteer as a speaker for our upcoming Victim Impact Panel (VIP) Program, hosted at the RICCA (Rock Island County Council on Addictions).
Our VIP speakers share their personal experiences, and the impact impaired driving has had on their lives.
What is a Victim Impact Panel?
MADD’s Victim Impact Panels are educational, judgment-free programs where the goal is not to shame or condemn anyone in attendance, but to create an opportunity for reflection and understanding through information and firsthand experiences from those impacted by impaired driving. We want participants to recognize the real people and lasting consequences behind an impaired-driving decision.
We also recognize that speaking about your experience can be difficult. You are never expected to share anything you are not comfortable sharing. We are simply inviting those who are ready and willing to use their experience to help others understand the impact impaired driving can have. While sharing your story may be difficult, your voice has the power to help someone make a different choice in the future.
