Volunteer With Jordanian Children

In the last two stages of the volunteer program, you will have the chance to volunteer with Jordanian children in Amman and local refugee camps. This unique experience will shape participants’ perspectives for years to come.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to create their own workshops for Jordanian children. Previous workshops have included:

• Drama for Jordanian refugees
• Fun days for Jordanian kids in the refugee camps
• Conversational English language for Jordanian kids
• Arts and music for disabled Jordanian children
• Media training for Jordanian school students
• Environmental camps for young school students
• Journalism workshops for high school students
• Medicine (First Aid Courses)
• And more!

Accessible Volunteer Programs

The Excellence Center offers accessible volunteer programs for international participants. The volunteering programs take place for between one and three months. They are perfect for individuals interested in helping the Jordanian community and learning either Jordanian, Levantine, or Modern Standard Arabic.

We provide an engaging environment for volunteers to make a difference in a safe and meaningful way, from teaching English as a foreign language to studying Arabic and exchanging information about culture, education, and many other topics in Jordan. As part of the various programs, you will be offered visits to local sites, lectures, and discussions to develop your understanding of the respective program, and as part of a commitment to cultural exchange.

The Volunteering in Jordan Program is available year-round (Summer, Winter, Fall, and Spring) and is ideal for international students from all backgrounds with an interest in Jordanian culture, as well as those wishing to broaden their life experience while learning a new language.
