    Share Your Talent! Facilitate creative or life-skills classes for women at Calvary

    About the Role

    LEAP (Learning, Education, and Arts Program) Facilitators lead weekly educational and enrichment classes for residents at Calvary Women's Services transitional housing programs. Whether you have a knack for literacy, computer skills, the arts, wellness, or music, your expertise and passion can help our residents develop practical skills and build confidence. As a LEAP Facilitator, you will guide a small group of participants (typically a maximum of 15 participants) through an 8-week session, fostering personal growth and creating a safe, supportive learning environment.

    • Give Back to Your Community: Use your talents to support women in transitional housing achieve their personal goals!

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead Weekly Instruction: Facilitate a 60-minute educational or enrichment class for a group of up to 15 residents.
    • Engaging Lesson Planning: In coordination with Calvary's Education Manager, develop and facilitate creative, interactive lessons that promote skill development, learning, and overall well-being.
    • Collaborate for Success: Maintain regular communications with Calvary's Education Manager regarding lesson plans, materials, and class attendance.
    • Provide Consistent Support: Offer positive encouragement to participants throughout the duration of the 8-week session to ensure a rewarding experience for everyone involved!

    Qualifications

    • Passion for education/arts and women's empowerment.
    • Prior experience in teaching or workshop facilitation is a plus, but a desire to mentor women is what matters most.
    • Ability to commit to lead a 1-hour class per week for 8-weeks during business hours (typically scheduled between 10AM - 2PM).
    • A friendly and patient demeanor.
