Description
Help lead the heart of UCOM’s mobile food pantry at one of our partner apartment communities. As Volunteer Team Lead, you’ll guide fellow volunteers through set-up, distribution, and clean-up under the direction of UCOM staff—ensuring neighbors receive food efficiently, safely, and respectfully.
In this role, you will:
- Lead volunteer set-up, distribution flow, and clean-up
- Facilitate a quick volunteer huddle before distribution
- Maintain organization and order throughout the program
- Manage the mobile pantry “go bag” (supplies, paperwork, signage, Salesforce schedule, etc.)
- Monitor inventory and determine appropriate servings based on program guidelines
- Collect required paperwork and ensure food safety compliance
- Alert the Program Director to any issues or volunteer no-shows
Position requirements:
- Able to lift at least 10 lbs and carry grocery bags short distances
- Comfortable standing and walking for a 2–3 hour shift
- Willing to assist with brief set-up and clean-up
- Reliable transportation for off-site locations
We’re looking for someone dependable, organized, and confident in leading small teams—someone who can stay calm in a busy environment and help create a smooth, welcoming experience for the seniors we serve.
