    Description

    Preparing Recovery Housing for new residents

    Our Nonprofit recently took over previously poorly run recovery housing and there is lots to do to prepare the units and yard of the complex fir new residents who will soon be getting out of inpatient treatment. Here are some of the things needed:

    • Weeding;
    • Making a path w/ gravel after loading it from the truck;
    • Bringing coffee, snacks or lunch for volunteers;
    • Pulling up old carpet;
    • Cleaning the unit kitchens & bathrooms;
    • Painting walls;
    • Painting kitchen cupboards;
    • Putting 2 bunk beds together;
    • Setting rooms up w/ twin beds;
    • Repairing some holes in the wall;
    • Replacing a cabinet;
    • Cutting a 1/4 inch off 2 doors that rub against the carpet making the doors difficult to open;
    • Replacing an attic door/ Cutting a new piece for it;
    • Repairing a couple holes in the ceiling;
    • Adding an approximate foot and 1/2 wall area to the top of the bathroom door of the Recovery meeting house (it is in more of a 'stall' situation) to close it off;
    • Replacing the wood floor of a small bathroom that had gotten weak from water damage;
    • Putting new Laminate or carpet over it;
    • Building a small Gazebo or covered area for the 'smoking' or BBQ section.
