    About Mentor A Promise

Mentor A Promise is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting young people experiencing housing instability through mentorship, educational support, and community-based programs. As the organization expands its programs, communications, publishing initiatives, campaigns, and mission-driven products, we are building the leadership and operating structure needed to support that growth.

    Role Introduction

Mentor A Promise (MAP) is seeking an experienced Director - IT to join PromiseShield (Manage IT, Security & Privacy) and build out our core IT service management and infrastructure functions.

This is a strategic leadership and hands-on role for someone who can establish baseline IT processes, streamline multi-cloud infrastructure, and automate workflows across Google Workspace, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and AWS.

The successful candidate will be an experienced IT leader with strong expertise in system integration, process design, and modern automated workflows.

    What You'll Do

    • Build and scale the core IT function from the ground up, establishing IT governance, operational workflows, and service delivery frameworks.
    • Manage and optimize Google Workspace administration, user lifecycle management, domain controls, and organization-wide application policies.
    • Select and roll out an IT Service Management (ITSM) platform to streamline internal ticketing, asset tracking, and service request processes.
    • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), IT policies, and system integration workflows to ensure operational consistency.
    • Oversee cloud infrastructure environments across Google Workspace, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and AWS.
    • Implement automation within Google Workspace (Apps Script, workflows) and integrate software tools to improve cross-team efficiency.
    • Leverage AI-based software development tools and automation frameworks to accelerate internal IT delivery and software workflows.

    What We're Looking For

    Strong candidates will bring:

    • Proven experience as an IT Director, IT Manager, or Senior Systems Administrator building or expanding an IT function.
    • Strong hands-on expertise in Google Workspace administration and Google ecosystem automation (e.g., Google Apps Script, API integrations, workflow automation).
    • Practical experience or familiarity managing enterprise cloud platforms including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AWS.
    • Demonstrated experience evaluating, implementing, and configuring ITSM platforms and IT service desk workflows.
    • Proven track record in drafting clear IT documentation, process flows, standard operating procedures, and governance standards.

Experience in one or more of the following areas is especially valuable:

    • Nonprofit or mission-driven organizations
    • Education or youth-focused organizations
    • AI-assisted software development, generative AI tools, or advanced workflow automation platforms
    • Managing remote, cross-functional technical teams or volunteer communities
