    Description

    Research Coordinator

Position Summary: The Research Coordinator is responsible for helping plan and manage civic research for the organization. This role focuses on the day-to-day management of data collection tools, ensuring that our surveys (like the Civic Pulse Survey) are functioning correctly and that our community focus groups are conducted in accordance with best qualitative research practices.

    Key Responsibilities (Within 3–5 Hours/Week):

    • Data Management: Oversee the organization and storage of all research data, ensuring it is labeled correctly and easy for the team to access.
    • Survey Administration: Manage the digital platforms used to collect community feedback, including troubleshooting any technical issues with survey links or distribution.
    • Intern Coordination: Provide direct guidance and task assignments to the Research Analyst interns, ensuring their work aligns with the Director’s research goals.
    • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular "spot checks" on data entry and literature reviews to ensure the highest level of accuracy and non-partisan objectivity.
    • Content Support: Help the Director of Research prepare raw data to be turned into the charts, graphs, and reports used by the Education and Advancement teams.
    • Team Collaboration: Attend the 90-minute monthly organization-wide meeting and participate in short meetings with the Research Team.

    Standard Participation Requirements for Staff:

    • Monthly Sync: Attend one 90-minute organization-wide meeting each month to stay connected with the full team.
    • Team Syncs: Participate in up to three short team-level meetings per month to coordinate specific tasks.
    • Independent Work: Use the remaining weekly hours for data auditing, intern check-ins, and platform management.
    • Neutrality: Ensure all research methodologies and data sets remain strictly objective and free from political bias.
