Description
Role Summary:
Data Coding Associates support research initiatives by accurately coding qualitative data based
on coding protocols and transferring scanned, handwritten data into secure online data
collection forms. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, a
commitment to data quality, and strict adherence to MAP’s legal, ethical, and regulatory
requirements for the collection, handling, and storage of human subjects research data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow established data coding procedures to code qualitative data.
- Enter data and metadata from scanned forms into an online data collection form.
- Identify and report incomplete, inconsistent, or unclear survey responses to the research
project manager.
- Follow MAP’s data entry procedures and quality assurance standards to ensure
complete and error-free data, and to uphold ethical, security, and legal requirements.
- Strictly maintain the confidentiality of participant information.
- Perform other related data entry and administrative duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Interest in academic or applied research.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Proficiency with computers and web-based applications.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and work independently.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- An active CITI Human Subjects Research certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in data entry, data coding, or research assistance is a plus.
