    Volunteer Role: Tech Education Instructor

    About Us:

Triceratops Technology Resources is a nonprofit that helps community groups and grassroots organizations use technology to grow and serve better. We provide training, support, and open-source tools that make tech more accessible and impactful.

    The Role:

We’re looking for volunteer Tech Education Instructors to lead in-person technology workshops in the Olympia area. You’ll work with local nonprofits to teach both staff and community members essential digital and technical skills that empower them to learn, grow, and serve more effectively.

    Responsibilities:

    • Facilitate engaging, hands-on lessons on a variety of tech topics such as:
      • Coding clubs for youth
      • Basic computer and email skills
      • I.T. and cybersecurity fundamentals
      • Other digital literacy or tech-focused subjects
    • Adapt lessons to the audience’s experience level and learning pace.
    • Foster an encouraging, patient, and inclusive learning environment.
    • Collaborate with our team to align on curriculum, materials, and logistics.

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Experience teaching, tutoring, or facilitating technology topics (formal or informal).
    • Patient, clear communicator who enjoys helping others learn.
    • Comfortable leading small groups and adapting to diverse audiences.
    • Familiarity with basic tech tools or specific areas like coding, I.T., or cybersecurity.
    • Reliability and professionalism when representing Triceratops Technology Resources.

    Why Volunteer?

Share your skills to empower others with the confidence to use technology. This is a great opportunity to give back to your community, build teaching experience, and inspire the next generation of digital learners—all while doing something that truly makes a difference.
