Outcome School is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit workforce platform that equips underserved youth with practical, technology-driven skills that lead to employment and long-term economic mobility. Through free, cohort-based training, mentorship, hands-on projects, and career readiness support, Outcome School helps young people move from Learn → Build → Intern → Job.

Role Overview

Outcome School is seeking a creative and mission-aligned Volunteer Graphic Designer to help bring our brand to life through merchandise and visual design. This volunteer will create compelling designs for T-shirts, hoodies, shorts, hats, bottles, bags, mugs, and other branded items that reflect Outcome School’s identity, energy, and purpose.

This is a great opportunity for a designer who wants to use their creativity to support a youth-centered nonprofit and help build a strong, inspiring brand presence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design original graphics for Outcome School merchandise and promotional items
• Create visual concepts that align with Outcome School’s mission, culture, and audience
• Develop designs for apparel and branded products, including T-shirts, hoodies, shorts, hats, bottles, bags, mugs, and related items
• Prepare clean, production-ready design files for printing or vendor use
• Collaborate with Outcome School leadership or team members on design direction and feedback
• Help ensure visual consistency across branded merchandise

Ideal Qualifications

• Experience in graphic design, apparel design, merchandise design, or brand design
• Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, or similar platforms
• Strong sense of typography, color, layout, and branding
• Ability to translate ideas into visually appealing designs
• Comfortable receiving feedback and revising concepts when needed
• Passion for youth empowerment, education, workforce development, or mission-driven work

Nice to Have

• Experience designing for nonprofit organizations, schools, or community initiatives
• Experience preparing files for screen printing, embroidery, or merchandise production
• Illustration or streetwear-inspired design sensibility
