Are you passionate about social media and storytelling? Want to use your skills to support young mothers and uplift underrepresented voices?
Position Summary
Join Young Mothers, Inc. as a Social Media Assistant and help bring our mission to life online. You’ll play a key role in creating engaging, meaningful content that connects with our community and spreads awareness of programs that truly make a difference.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and publish posts and stories across Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter
- Write engaging, platform-specific captions aligned with our content calendar
- Research and apply relevant hashtags to expand reach
- Tailor content to resonate with our core audience, young mothers
- Design eye-catching social graphics and flyers using Canva
- Select visuals that align with our brand identity
- Tag partners, collaborators, and featured individuals to boost engagement
- Schedule posts using tools like Buffer (or similar platforms)
- Double-check accuracy of captions, hashtags, and links before publishing
- Create and promote events on Facebook and other platforms
- Share program updates and registration details across social channels
- Keep social media bios updated with current links and opportunities
Qualifications
- Interest in social media, communications, or nonprofit work
- Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter
- Basic Canva skills (you don’t have to be a designer, just creative!)
- Experience with scheduling tools like Buffer
- A passion for digital storytelling and community engagement
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow brand guidelines
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
- Open to feedback and excited to learn
