Description
Lifeline is the beneficiary of Sprouts , Starbucks and Costco Wholesale’s donation programs. Its purpose is to donate extra inventory to organizations that focus on serving children, education, or health and human organizations. Multiple days each week, volunteers pick up food donations at either Sprouts Vista location, Costco San Marcos location and/or Costco’s Vista location and deliver them to one of Lifeline’s campuses. All donations are available on a first come, first serve basis to Lifeline clients.
Placement in this volunteer position requires an informational interview.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pick-up of food donations every Wednesday and/ or Thursday morning between 8 - 10 am
- Transport and deliver donations to Lifeline’s campus
- Sort, inventory, and weigh donations
- Organize and shelf donations for easy access and distribution
Desired Attributes:
- Must have own, reliable transportation
- Early morning availability every Thursday
- Ability to transfer donations from shopping cart to vehicle
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. at a time
- Must have friendly and helpful demeanor
- 6 month minimum commitment
- Security Checks: TB Test, Drug Screening, Live Scan Background Check, and DMV Driver Record
