Therapeutic Music Volunteer Opportunity
Are you passionate about music and making a difference in people's lives? We're looking for compassionate individuals to join our team as Therapeutic Music Volunteers.
No license or certification as a music therapist is required-just your love for music and a desire to bring comfort to others. As a volunteer, you’ll have the chance to share your musical talents with hospice patients in Orange County, as well as parts of Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties.
Your presence and soothing melodies can provide comfort, joy, and peace during a deeply meaningful time in our patients' lives. Be part of this rewarding experience and help bring healing through the power of music.
Responsibilities:
- Visit hospice patients in designated facilities or homes, as arranged by the hospice Volunteer Coordinator.
- Engage patients in meaningful conversations to understand their musical preferences, memories, and emotional needs.
- Use your musical skills to provide therapeutic and calming music.
- Perform live music using voice, instrument, or a combination of both, to create a soothing and supportive environment.
- Foster a warm and compassionate atmosphere by providing emotional support to patients and their families.
- Respect patient confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries..
