    Description

Veterans Volunteer Opportunity – Hospice Companionship

    Vet-to-Vet

Providence Home Health & Hospice is looking for veterans who would like to serve their community again by providing companionship to hospice patients.

Many veterans find hospice volunteering meaningful because it allows them to continue serving others and support fellow community members during an important stage of life.

Volunteers spend time with patients by talking, listening to stories, sharing memories, reading, playing music, or simply sitting together. Your presence can bring comfort to both patients and their families.

Patients are cared for wherever they call home, including private homes, assisted living communities, or nursing facilities.

This is an independent volunteer role once you feel comfortable, but you will always have support from our hospice team of nurses, social workers, chaplain, and fellow volunteers.

We also meet weekly as a volunteer team to stay connected and support one another.

Training is provided at the beginning and continues throughout your volunteer journey.
