Volunteer where the wild things are! If you are at least 18 years of age, like working with people and nature then becoming an adult volunteer at Binder Park Zoo might be just the thing for you.
Each volunteer plays a crucial role in supporting Binder Park Zoo's mission to Connect. Inspire. Conserve. Connect people with nature. Inspire them to conserve.
Volunteers opportunities include:
- Horticulture – cleaning up zoo grounds, weeding, trimming, taking care of overgrowth, etc (this is our biggest need)
- Guest Services – greeting people, working up at Twiga (giraffe feeding experience), assisting with school groups (May-June), housekeeping and working in areas such as the trams, railroad and carousel.
- 2026 Special Events – held throughout the summer and fall
- Cheetah Chase – June 27
- Corks & Kegs at the Zoo – July 18
- Wild Wednesdays in July
- Tour de Zoo – August 14
- Fall into the Zoo – Weekends in October
- Paws & Claus Santa Brunch – (Dates TBD)
- Education – Docent, day camps, school group presentations, zoo overnights
- Administration – various projects, archives project (in beginning stages)
