    Description

The Josh Minton Foundation is seeking a reliable and creative volunteer to help manage our presence on Facebook and LinkedIn. This individual will work closely with the Foundation President to keep our supporters informed, recognize the people and organizations who make our work possible, and share the Foundation’s activities with the community.

    Responsibilities

    • Create, schedule, and publish routine content on Facebook and LinkedIn.
    • Share updates about Foundation events, programs, volunteer opportunities, sponsors, fundraising efforts, and community involvement.
    • Coordinate with the Foundation President to identify upcoming content and maintain a consistent posting schedule.
    • Adapt posts appropriately for Facebook and LinkedIn while maintaining the Foundation’s voice and mission.
    • Gather approved photographs, event details, and other information needed for posts.
    • Review posts for accuracy, clarity, grammar, and appropriate tone.
    • Monitor basic engagement and notify the Foundation President of comments or messages requiring a response.
    • Help maintain a respectful, positive, and professional online presence.

The Foundation President will continue to write and publish posts that are especially personal, sensitive, or emotionally significant. The Social Media Coordinator will focus primarily on routine organizational communications and will collaborate with the President whenever the appropriate tone or handling of a post is unclear.

    Ideal Volunteer

The ideal volunteer is dependable, organized, and comfortable using Facebook and LinkedIn. Strong writing and communication skills are important, along with good judgment and respect for the stories of veterans, families, donors, sponsors, and volunteers. Experience managing social media for an organization is helpful but not required.

This is a flexible volunteer opportunity for someone who wants to use their communication skills to support veterans and help advance the mission of the Josh Minton Foundation.
