Pink Angels Ambassador - Fortunato Breast Health Center

Position Summary:

To create a welcoming and friendly environment while escorting patients and their caregivers between the Fortunato Breast Health Center and the Pink Angels Integrative Care Suite

Days/Hours:

• Thursdays
• 10am-2pm

Qualifications:

1. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
2. Mature, positive, service-oriented individuals.
3. Ability to communicate in a caring, empathetic and calming way, especially in difficult situations.
4. Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting with seriously ill people.
5. Demonstrates understanding of Northwell’s policy on HIPAA, PHI and confidentiality.
6. Must be able to communicate clearly in English: bilingual skills are helpful.
7. Ability to remain calm under pressure.
8. Physical ability to withstand long periods of standing and walking.
9. Must be able to lift 20 lbs.

Responsibilities:

1. Courteously identifying yourself and following the CONNECT model.
2. Escorts patients and caregivers between the Fortunato Breast Health Center and Pink Angels Integrative Care Suite.
3. Makes periodic rounds of the waiting room, examination areas lobby, etc. to check in with patients and/or families and assess satisfaction and comfort level.
4. Assists patients and families by obtaining answers to questions including non-clinical information on the status and causes of delays.
5. Provides directions to other areas of the hospital such as the cafeteria, public restrooms, chapel, etc. Escorts families to the patient’s exam room, when appropriate.
6. Communicates concerns needing immediate attention to the appropriate staff person, i.e., Nursing, Security, Access Services, Maintenance, etc.
