    Description

Have a background in STEM and want to make a difference in education? EnCorps supports STEM professionals who want to make an impact in California classrooms that need it the most. No teaching experience is required unless you are solely looking to pursue credentialing.

Find Your Path as an EnCorps Fellow

The EnCorps STEM Teachers Program recruits STEM professionals interested in sharing their expertise with students in under-resourced communities. Once accepted into the program, as an EnCorps Fellow (program participant), you'll work with a dedicated Program Manager who will tailor your experience based on your goals through one of these pathways:

    • Classroom Volunteering: Share your STEM expertise through volunteering in a classroom.
    • Career Exploring: Get hands-on classroom experience to help you decide if teaching is the right career move.
    • Credential Support: Get dedicated 1:1 guidance navigating California's teacher credentialing process.

What you will receive as a Fellow:

    • 1:1 individualized planning and support from your Program Manager
    • A guest teaching placement: two hours per week for 10 consecutive weeks at a high-needs middle or high school
    • A $150 travel stipend upon completing your guest teaching
    • Access to online learning resources, workshops, etc.
    • A community of STEM professionals committed to educational equity
    • The chance to make a lasting difference in a student's access to quality STEM education

To qualify as an EnCorps Fellow you must be mission-aligned and meet the following requirements:

    • Have STEM industry or education experience you're excited to share with students
    • A baccalaureate degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university with a GPA of 2.50 or higher
    • No current teaching credential, license, or certification in math or science in California
    • Eligible to work in the U.S. (citizen or Permanent Resident)
    • Live in one of the California regions we serve:
      • Greater San Francisco Bay Area
      • Greater Los Angeles Area / North Orange County
