    Description

    Volunteer Coordinator

    The Orang Utan Republik Foundation (OURF) is a participatory non-profit where volunteers from around the world collaborate to help the organization achieve its goals of educating people about orangutans and enrolling them to take action to save this critically endangered species.

    OURF has numerous committees where volunteers support various functions, from Content Creation to Education to Social Media. OURF is seeking a volunteer to oversee the volunteers as part of the Volunteer Committee. The Volunteer Coordinator will support the President and the Committee Chairs to ensure the volunteers are productive and appreciated as the committees work on various programs and projects. The role involves assessing and meeting the Foundation's needs through the recruitment, placement, and retention of volunteers.

    Job Description:

    • Coordinate regularly with President or Executive Director
    • Support onboarding process as developed by President and others
    • Be knowledgeable with other committees using volunteers
    • Communicate frequently with chairs of each committee regarding volunteer needs and issues.
    • Communicate with volunteers when needed using tools like Zoom, WhatsApp, etc.
    • Help train or find training needed for the volunteer’s tasks and assignments.
    • Track the progress of volunteer service including projects, tasks, hours, worked.
    • Develop and/or maintain volunteer contact information
    • Help make sure volunteer has submitted waiver and proof of car insurance.
    • Report to the President about harassment and other issues as they arise.
    • Support requests for proof of volunteering by the volunteer or other agencies
    • Help maintain digital files in the Volunteer Committee shared folder and other digital files that support the committee’s functions.
    • Promote the success of the Volunteer program by reports to the Board (annually) and in social media and the OURF website
    • Nominate volunteers for commendation for excellent work or sustained performance.
    • Assist with offboarding when the volunteer wishes to move on.

    Time commitment: minimum of 5-7 hours/week. Can be a co-coordinator position.
