At end-of-life, many hospice patients are uncomfortable having their photos taken. They want their loved ones to remember them in earlier years, not as what they looked like in their later life stages. Because many families still want to capture moments with their loved ones at end of life, Elara Caring Hospice created the Holding Hands Forever program. This program, which gives families a portrait of their own hands holding the hands of their loved ones, is a beautiful and dignified way to commemorate those last memories in a positive light.
We are seeking volunteers with the ability to make this keepsake possible to our families by meeting with them and capturing the "Holding Hands" photo.
