    TPCA is seeking a volunteer Systems Optimization & Automation Specialist to help streamline operations and strengthen our mission-driven infrastructure. If you’re passionate about smart systems and team empowerment, this role offers a chance to build a more efficient, connected, and sustainable foundation for our work.

    Texas Prisons Community Advocates (TPCA) is a 501(c)(3) grassroots nonprofit founded in July 2021. We are devoted to advocating for incarcerated Texans and their loved ones. Our mission is to support affected families and individuals, cultivate public awareness, and foster empowerment through education, collaboration, and connection to community resources — all with the goal of promoting humane conditions within the Texas prison system.

    Role Overview:

    This volunteer will work closely with leadership to identify opportunities for automation, improve workflows, and implement tools that reduce manual tasks and increase clarity across teams. The position requires engaging with colleagues to assess their operational needs and implement improvements to their workflows

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Audit current systems and processes to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks
    • Recommend and implement automation tools (e.g., scheduling, data entry, communications)
    • Collaborate with team leads to ensure solutions are trauma-informed and user-friendly
    • Document systems and create simple guides for volunteers and staff
    • Provide occasional troubleshooting or training assistance as needed

    Ideal Volunteer:

    • Experience with systems design, automation tools, or process optimization
    • Familiarity with platforms like GivePulse, Zapier, Microsoft Teams, or similar
    • Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit
    • Values inclusivity, clarity, and sustainability in system design
    • Bonus: Experience in nonprofit or volunteer-led environments
