About Opportunity
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate volunteer to provide in‑person companionship to an older adult living in an Adult Family Home. This opportunity focuses on social connection, conversation, and shared activities in a respectful, structured setting.
What You’ll Do
- Provide one‑on‑one companionship during scheduled visits
- Engage in friendly conversation and shared interests
- Participate in simple, enjoyable activities such as:
- Reading the news together
- Listening to music
- Watching television
- Talking about life experiences and travels
- Offer consistent, positive social interaction while maintaining clear and appropriate boundaries
Schedule
- In‑person visits
- Flexible scheduling based on volunteer availability
- Typically, 1–2 hours per visit, weekly or bi‑weekly
Who We’re Looking For
- Friendly, patient, and dependable individuals
- Comfortable engaging with older adults in a residential care setting
- Able to maintain healthy boundaries and consistency
- Experience with older adults, veterans, or faith‑based companionship is welcome but not required
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Completion of volunteer onboarding (background check and health screening)
- Willingness to follow program guidelines and residential care expectations
